The shock accolade came despite Frank Lampard’s Northern Irish girlfriend losing thousands of viewers a day with co-star Adrian Chiles on ITV’s Daybreak programme. At least it was a nice pick-me-up for the 31-year-old after a terrible week during which viewing figures dwindled to 600,000 a day.
Although many more people tuned in yesterday, they might have got a shock when they saw Chiles’ flies undone. A programme insider said: ‘Christine thought it was very funny.’
When Metro spoke to Bleakley about the viewing figures last night, she said: ‘Me and Adrian are fine. It’s a new start so we ignore all that. The mood’s fine. I’m just struggling with the 3am start. I have to have little naps in the day and I had a little sleep before coming here.’
